BioScience2004 a success!
Feedback was sought from all delegates attending the meeting. The following were just a few of the many positive comments received:
The quality of speakers were excellent
The meeting was incredibly relevant to my area of research and the lectures were of a very high standard
Great plenary speakers
Some fabulous plenary lectures and some excellent sessions
Apart from the excellent science, the evenings were packed with social activities, Wines and Foods of the World, a ceilidh, whisky tasting and a careers ‘speed data’ event.
A trade exhibition was held alongside BioScience2004 attracting a large variety of exhibitors showcasing their latest products. The exhibition hall was buzzing and exhibitors were kept busy with delegates taking part in a Passport Competition to win various prizes.
During BioScience Kids, at the Glasgow Science Centre, the weekend before the main BioScience Meeting, over 2,000 children tickled tarantulas, cuddled cockroaches and watched Dr Bunhead fire bananas. A microscope workshop taught the children how to prepare slides, stain samples and use microscopes to view various specimens while the Chaos team launched water rockets, performed liquid nitrogen shows and ran a ‘medics corner’.
